About Makaela Bamonti
Makaela provides compassionate, trauma-focused counseling for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, identity exploration, and significant life transitions. She incorporates EMDR therapy into her trauma-informed approach, helping clients process difficult experiences, reduce emotional distress, and move toward lasting healing. Together, she and her clients explore ways to cultivate greater meaning, connection, resilience, and purpose.
Makaela meets clients where they are, helping them recognize their innate strengths while honoring the unique experiences that have shaped them. She creates a warm, supportive environment where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to embrace growth. Through mindfulness and present-moment awareness, she helps clients reconnect with both themselves and the world around them.
Believing in the transformative power of pain, Makaela helps clients understand the stories behind their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while discovering the resilience and wisdom that emerge through healing. She approaches therapy with curiosity, compassion, and authenticity, viewing each session as a collaborative exploration of “what has happened to you” rather than “what is wrong with you.”
Makaela welcomes every part of who her clients are with acceptance and respect, creating a safe space where healing and self-discovery can unfold. Clients often describe her as a calm, grounding presence who helps them connect their mind and body throughout the therapeutic process. Inspired by Ann Voskamp’s words, “Shame dies when stories are told in safe places,” Makaela is honored to provide that safe place where meaningful change can begin.
