About Izzy Calcaterra
Izzy provides compassionate, strengths-based counseling to children, adolescents, and adults. She believes therapy should be a space where clients feel seen, heard, understood, and accepted for who they are. With warmth and curiosity, Izzy meets clients where they are and helps them build self-awareness, confidence, communication skills, and resilience as they navigate life’s challenges.
Izzy works with clients across the lifespan and thoughtfully adapts her approach to each person’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. She supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, self-esteem, emotional challenges, and life transitions. Whether you're working through the challenges of growing up, finding your footing, or navigating the complexities of life, Izzy offers a supportive space to explore your experiences, better understand yourself, and develop practical tools for meaningful change.
When working with children and adolescents, Izzy looks beyond challenging behaviors to understand what those behaviors may be communicating. Through play-based and experiential approaches, she helps young clients explore their feelings, develop healthy coping skills, and strengthen emotional regulation. Izzy also values the important role parents and caregivers play in a child’s emotional well-being. Using Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), she works collaboratively with families to strengthen emotional connections, improve communication, and help caregivers feel more confident supporting their child’s emotional needs both in and outside the therapy room.
With adults, Izzy helps clients navigate emotions, relationships, identity, and changing life circumstances. Whether you're looking to manage anxiety or depression, build self-esteem, improve relationships, work through a difficult transition, or become a more confident and fulfilled version of yourself, Izzy works alongside you to recognize patterns, build on your strengths, and create meaningful change.
Izzy draws from CBT, DBT, person-centered therapy, play-based and experiential approaches, and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). She thoughtfully tailors her approach to each client and family, balancing compassion, practical tools, and opportunities for growth.
Outside of therapy, Izzy enjoys strength training, skiing, camping, hiking 14ers, spending time outdoors, and exploring new places.
