About Brian J. Harper
Brian enjoys helping couples, families, and individuals better understand themselves and one another. He believes meaningful change begins with feeling heard, understood, and accepted. His goal is to create a welcoming, genuine, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore what they are experiencing, gain new perspectives, and find a path forward.
Brian has a particular passion for working with couples who feel caught in familiar patterns of conflict, disconnection, or misunderstanding. He helps partners slow down, look beneath the surface of their disagreements, and better understand the emotions and needs that shape their relationship. Drawing on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Brian works with couples to strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and build a deeper sense of security, trust, and understanding.
His path to becoming a therapist has been anything but ordinary. Before entering the counseling field, Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in drama and spent many years working in education, comedy, and improv. These experiences continue to shape his appreciation for authenticity, curiosity, humor, and the importance of human connection. He completed his master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy at the University of Colorado Denver.
Brian considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges, discover new ways of understanding themselves, and build stronger, more meaningful relationships. He believes therapy can make room for both meaningful conversations and moments of laughter along the way.
